St. Nickolas

Tonight when I lit the candles for the advent wreath, I read from a feast day cookbook. The cookbook had some history and legends about St. Nickolas. There were also a couple of recipes for goodies. I decided to make Speculaus cookies. The dough needs to chill, so I will make the cookies in the morning and Cyprian gets to decorate them with colored frosting.
Franz is walking home from school tonight. I hope he is warm enough, it is chilly with a cold wind. Makes me so glad and thankful for heat.
The boys are still getting rid of phlegm from the nasty virus that caused them to get pneumonia. Clement today and yesterday had a choking spell, it really scares me when a little one can't breath. He is a little trooper and works it out, but I get really anxious when he is straining to clear his lungs. ST. NICKOLAS please watch over my boys! He is the patron to pray for children. I gave the boys a warm steamy bath to help ease their congestion. It seems to have helped them get to sleep. Now that we are back in Texas we have been settling into a routine. Franz is crazy busy this week so I don't plan on seeing much of him till his semester is over. ST. Nickolas is also the patron of scholars, so we prayed especially for Daddy tonight when the boys and I said our rosary tonight.
Oh, our bags made it home safely, no delays at the airport, and now we have a wonderful bounty of meat, cheese, maple syrup, etc. I have been organizing and putting the house to rights.
Franz kept it clean, he just moved things around a bit. I am totally rambling but that is the mood I am. I think I will close and get some shut eye.

HAPPY ST NICKOLAS FEAST DAY! It's just a few hours early.....
