Miracle of naptime:')

Both boys are taking a nap. It is a miracle. Maybe Cyprian has gone off strike. For the past month Cyprian has had three days when he took a nap. I am counting this as a miracle, whew!

Both boys had shots yesterday. Cyprian is in love with the doctor and vice versa. He looked a little hurt when he received his shot, but quickly got over it when he got 8 stickers. I love that people think he is cute and such a good kid, but really wish they would not keep saying so in front of him. Any parent I think is proud of their children and likes to hear praise. I am just not so fond of the constant statements of cuteness.

Poor Clement has a fever. I think he may have been on the verge of getting something before he got his shots and now he is running a fever. He is being a trooper though and just wants to snuggle. I have not cut his hair though I have been tempted, because people keep saying what a beautiful little sister you have to Cyprian. Cyprian looks a little confused but agrees anyway.

It is beautiful weather, being jacket, jeans, and cool boots weather! I am starting to think about what I will pack when the boys and I go to WI. I will be traveling with the two little guys and having to lug our luggage by myself. So I am packing as light as I can considering it will be cold.

I think it is time for a little snooze. I did not get a whole lot of sleep last night due to Clement being restless. Maybe when I next post I will have something a little more exciting than naps and shots to write about:')

It is cold!

So Franz thinks I am crazy because I said it is cold. I said if the temp in the house went below 68, I would turn the heat on. My blood has thinned since living in TX. It is a cold rainy night. We lit a fire in the fireplace for the first time since earlier this year. I have bread that is just about done baking and the boys are watching the Rangers in the sixth game of the world series. I feel very happy, cozy, and content. Thank you God for all the blessings!

Clement has a new mantra DaDaDada. I am trying to teach him Mama, but he just starts shouting Dadada! Oh well, he still loves to snuggle with me the most, so I won't complain too much..

Cyprian was watching me cut my hair earlier. I didn't realize how much attention he was paying till while I had my hair draped over my face and was leaning over in the bathroom I suddenly felt scissors and heard the sound of hair being snipped. Yep, he got a chunk of my hair and cut at least 5 inches off. Thankfully my hair is so thick that it is not really too noticeable. He just wanted to help:')

Life is so interesting with young ens, who needs to pay to go see something entertaining when real life can be a  very worthwhile crazy show.  Which brings me to, I am not really in the mood for typing so I think I will just end it here...I have boys to snuggle with:')

Cyprian and his kick!

So I am sitting in our living room space with Clement, when suddenly I hear glass shattering. I jump up an Cyprian is standing there on the tile and Daddy's wine glass is in pieces with his little foam football in the midst of the wreckage. Daddy comes out and tells Cyprian that it is a bad thing to play with his glass and gives him a verbal admonishment.

Cyprian is placed by me so that he isn't in stepping glass. He proceeds to tell me " I kick the ball" and then makes a shattering glass noise while throwing out his hands in a dramatic gesture. He also had an awed expression and smile. It took me a moment, then I realized he was telling me he had used Daddy's wine glass to hold his football for a kick off. I had the hardest time trying to keep a straight face, when I knew. When I explained to Franz what really happened I couldn't help but laugh.

Children have wonderful imaginations!

Rain!!

Today was just about perfect. Yesterday and last night it rained. This would not necessarily be considered a miracle, except for the fact that we have not really had a full day of rain since early spring. I think the whole outside was eagerly drinking. Now it is sunny in the late afternoon today.

Cyprian has made good use of a huge pile of dirt that had been dumped by a big dump truck, for the work on the backyard wall. He literally was laying on the top, and shouted that he was King of the tower. He proceeded to cover himself in dirt. While thus occupied, Clement and I were giving the chickens some scraps and cleaning up several things that needed a good wash.

This morning was great! While it was still cloudy and wet, I made bread and yogurt, then I cleaned the microwave and fridge.

By the way I wrote this on Monday! Just a little bit late posting...

Well...

It has been a busy week. Franz has been busily working and studying. Me and the boys like to occasionally give Franz grief. I realize I need to be more patient and loving, but sometimes it is really hard to do. So, if you read this Honey, I am really sorry for letting my temper get away with me. I LOVE YOU FRANZ!!

The little guys and I have been enjoying working and playing outside. Our fall garden consists of pumpkins, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, cucumbers, spinach, carrots, dill, green beans, tomatoes, and radishes. With Texas being in a drought I have to water them every other day or so. Of course there is weeding, which the chickens appreciate the bounty of our weed piles.

Cyprian is so fascinated and fond of bugs and critters. The other day while I was cleaning off the back patio area there happen to be a lizard. I pointed it out to Cyprian, the next thing I know he is excitedly exclaiming and pointing at the ground. I look and I see about an inch of the lizard's tail. It was just an inch of the lizard's tail and it was moving like a worm does when you chop off its head. Really kinda weird gross and fascinating. The piece of tail literally was still moving 7 minutes later, then Cyprian who happened to be carrying it on a leaf dropped in the grass. He was very sad, I was relieved. Yesterday Cyprian was playing with a bowl we have of Cicada shells, and one whole cicada bug, when I heard Clement coughing and looked to find a crushed cicada shell on the floor, in Clements hand and mouth. Cyprian said, "Mom, Clement crushed the bug and is eating it." He wanted to play bugs with Clement............. Clement is already getting a very varied diet, thanks to Cyprian. Today we discovered a dead turtle. It is at least a six inch long shell, and the turtle has been dead for sometime, because the shell is almost hollow. It is another Cyprian trophy.

Clement is still trying figure out the crawling deal. He might just skip it and start walking. He is already trying to pull himself up on furniture and people. He is a total Mommy's boy and lets poor Daddy know. I say I will be happy when he is totally crawling because then maybe he will wear himself out and take good naps. Right now he takes maybe two naps that may last up to 30  minutes. He use to like to sleep I don't know what happened. Except for maybe he took really good notes from Wrangell his cousin(my godchild).

I love my beautiful chickens! Out of the 29, 13 will be butchered, and 15 are laying hens, and my favorite rooster Laurence (Larry) is going to be the King of the roost. Larry is so friendly that He jumps up to my shoulder, eats out of my hand, and lets Cyprian pick him up with no fuss. All of my hens are named. Okay so some people think I am a bit crazy about my chickens. I inner library loaned ten books on chickens and read them all. I want to purchase a book or two for reference, and wanted to make sure I am getting the best. Too, I have made birth certificates for all the chickens we are keeping alive. Once they are fully grown I will be taking photos and putting them on the birth certificates. The birth certificates will then go on Cyprian's wall. Now do you agree I am chicken crazy? The best part is, is when Franz first suggested we get chickens a couple years ago, I said no way, they are disgusting and and annoying. Well, needing a new venture and wanting to provide more for our own table I romantically fell for raising chickens. So, now we are enjoying the ups and downs of our flock. Just tonight Cyprian opened the outside coop and several of the chickens were running around. I had to chase them all back in, while Cyprian thought it was great fun and laughed while chasing.

I will have to stop for now, I think I could use a little down time with my Honey. Goodnight!
