Visiting Wisconsin

Cyprian and I have been very busy the last couple of days. On Wednesday we went to the park and met a lot more young mothers and their children. Cyprian loved it but was a little overwhelmed by all the kids. I cleaned the apartment, went shopping and dropped off books at the library. I also packed bags for Cyprian and I. Because early the next morning we flew from Dallas to Minneapolis to Rochester MN., where my sister Rachel and her baby Maire picked us up. I wished we had been able to spend more time with Franz, but he was busy with work and school, and I was trying to get a lot done before we left.

I hated waking Cyprian up because we left our place at 4:10am. He was sleeping so comfortably and when I did arouse him he looked at me like whats your deal I'm sleeping and I want to keep on sleeping. Cyprian was really good on the planes though, he nursed and fell asleep before each take-off. When he was awake on the longer stretch, he simply played in the empty seat next to me and ate part of a bannana. In fact a guy commented on how good he was and said man my kids were never that good:')

We spent the rest of Thurday at my sister's. Cyprian and I took a nap, and then I made homemade pizza for supper. We surprised my brother Joshua who also lives with my sister and her husband. He was the only one who did not know we were coming. He was so nice that he even thanked me for the pizza. We went to the lookout in Winona that I had never been to, its really pretty, and since it was evening you looked on a city of lights. We stayed up late watching TV. Finally we went to bed. By the way Cyprian was good for a spell then he would cry. I think he's had so many changes in the last month, and he was also missing Daddy. I would have to say I was missing Franz a lot too.

We woke up after seven the next morning. I did dishes while Rachel watched the babies. Then we packed and left to go to the farm. Oh how I love the country and especially when the trees are changing colors. We stopped at a KwikTrip so I could withdraw some cash at the ATM. Then we stopped at Quillin's to pick up some groceries. It was raining the whole time we were driving. We got to the farm and Buck the puppy gave us a nice muddy wet welcome by jumping on me. Coral my old dog just growled at him in jealousy and anger that he was getting attention. Some things never change.

We ate lunch with Renee, Dad, Ally, Rachel and Maire. Afterwards it was a slow process to get all three little one to take a nap. Once I got Cyprian to sleep I left him on the porch with Rachel and Maire. I went out even though it was raining to pick tomatoes. I reveled in the fact that I wasn't in the city and I was getting muddy and wet. Oh the glory in being the only witness to your own dishevelment. Well actually my sisters saw me when I came in with my loads of tomatoes. Anyway Renee and I ended up making 22 jars of tomatoe juice and I froze several bags of tomatoes. There is still a basketful left. Rachel picked a bucketful of raspberries which I also put in freezer bags. They are so yummy, we also baked an acorn and butternut squash and a pumpkin. The good old country. Well my Dad headed up North to my brother's to go fishing with him and his family. Rachel and Maire headed back to home to Winona, and Renee and Ally went home to Cashton. That left just Cyprian and I to sleep in the big old farm house by ourselves. Yikes, I am so good at scaring myself. I can think of the worst and scariest things when I really shouldn't. Luckily I got to talk to my husband and he kept me sane. I had to take a bath to feel human again after all my play and work of the day. I pumped air into an air mattress and put Cyprian to sleep in a pack'n'play right next to my airbed. It wasn't very long before he joined me on the airbed. I didn't mind the company at all. We woke up this morning about 7:40, so now begins another day on our visit to Wisconsin. Oh and I love taking care of the animals again.
